10th Ave Productions is pleased with the nominations for its 2D animation series W and the writer and director of the series, Pierre Greco, announced yesterday by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. W is nominated in the categories Best Animated Program or Series and Best Writing in a Comedy or Variety Program or Series.

Telefilm Canada has confirmed its $1.5 million participation in the financing of Sarila, the first 3D animation feature film from Nancy Florence Savard, director and producer at 10th Ave Productions.

10th Ave Productions and 10th Ave Publishing, in collaboration with TELETOON, the Canadian Television Fund, the Shaw Rocket Fund, and Telefilm Canada’s New Media Fund, is celebrating the third season of the friendly castaway W during March Break. This year, starting March 2, kids will be able to watch 52 new episodes of W on TELETOON, and play the seven new games from W’s Islands on teletoon.com.

With its recent recognition by Telefilm Canada, 10th Ave productions is now eligible on its own as a feature-film producer for the national investor thanks to its animation project Le Coq de St-Victor, written by Johanne Mercier and Pierre Greco and art director Christian Daigle. With this official recognition, new doors are opening for animation and fiction filmmakers in the Quebec City region.

For the third time this year, following the Just For Laughs Film Festival and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television’s “Prix Gémeaux”, for the third time this year the animated series W from 10th Ave Productions received a nomination, this time at Expotoons in Argentina.

Thanks to Telefilm Canada’s program for development of French-language feature films aimed at regional production houses in Quebec and the support of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles du Québec (SODEC), 10th Ave Productions is continuing development on a second feature-length animated film: St-Victor’s Rooster.

At a press conference yesterday, the organizers of Quebec City’s 400th anniversary celebration announced, in collaboration with Archambault, the selection of The Collection of Classic Christmas Tales, by producer and director Nancy Savard of 10th Ave Productions, as one of the official souvenirs of the celebration.

Yesterday, during the press conference at Studio Juste pour Rire on Boulevard St-Laurent, Montreal, the 2D animation series of gags, W, by a company based just outside of Quebec City, 10th Ave Productions, was nominated for an award for the second time in one week, after a nomination for the Prix Gemeaux : Best animation awarded by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.

10th Ave Productions is pleased to announce that it has been nominated by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television for a 2008 Prix Gémeaux in the “Best animation” category for the series W, season 2. “This 2D animation series, which will soon total 156 gags over its three seasons, was completely written and directed in French, produced 100% in Quebec City,” noted producer Nancy Savard, “and we are particularly proud that Télétoon Canada was bold enough to support and encourage us in this venture.”
